Stoll Berne attorney Anuj Shah recently co-presented at the Real Estate and Land Use Annual Conference, held on August 21, 2026, in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. He was joined by Jordan Cunnings, Legal Director at Innovation Law Lab.

During the presentation, Shah discussed the use of environmental regulations and state and local laws to challenge the development and operation of immigration detention centers. Cunnings focused on the use of individual property rights to challenge immigration-related searches and investigations.

The presentation drew on issues related to Stoll Berne’s representation of the City of Newport in its ongoing lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security opposing the development of an immigration detention facility in Newport.

We congratulate Anuj on sharing his knowledge and insights with fellow legal professionals at this year’s conference.
