Lydia is a shareholder in the firm’s litigation group where she focuses on appellate cases, elections and government law, securities and class actions litigation. Prior to joining Stoll Berne as an associate, Lydia served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Morgan B. Christen (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit), and for the Honorable Chief Judge Michael W. Mosman (District of Oregon).

During law school, Lydia was the Senior Executive Editor of the California Law Review, worked as a teaching and research assistant, and volunteered in the California Asylum Representation Clinic. She was a summer associate in the office of another Portland law firm and interned for the California Department of Justice in the Education & Welfare Section.

Before practicing law, Lydia worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross and DCS Congressional in Washington, D.C.

Financial Advisor Misrepresentation

In a securities fraud lawsuit, Stoll Berne represented clients alleging their financial advisor misrepresented his credentials and lied to them about their investments. The firm obtained a $2.3 million default judgment against the financial advisor and his company on claims including securities fraud, breach of contract, elder abuse, and breach of fiduciary duty.
