Career Opportunities

Stoll Berne is looking to hire an associate attorney with 2-6 years of experience.

We offer a dynamic and professionally rewarding environment in which associate attorneys are exposed to all aspects of a complex and fast-paced litigation practice. The firm’s intimate size and structure gives associates opportunities to manage small cases while working on all aspects of larger cases. Our firm has been a part of important securities, environmental, wildfire, consumer, elections, and business cases in Oregon and nationally for decades.

At Stoll Berne, associate attorneys try cases, prepare pleadings and motions, contribute to high-level strategy meetings, handle hearings, take and defend depositions, and lead interactions with clients and opposing counsel. We select candidates with personal integrity, sound judgment, and superior analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.

Stoll Berne expects the highest level of litigation skill from its lawyers but understands that life is not all about work. To that end, we pride ourselves on our commitment to working with each of our lawyers to create and maintain a work environment that is flexible and mindful of our priorities outside the office. We offer a hybrid work environment, providing associate attorneys with the flexibility to work from home and also receive in-person mentorship.

Stoll Berne is committed to the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds. We promote diversity by actively working to recruit and retain qualified individuals who represent a variety of personal experience and demographics. Our goal is to maintain and nurture diversity in an environment that fosters excellence, achievement, and advancement of all qualified individuals regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, cultural and ethnic background, disability, socioeconomic status, nationality, or other unique and inherent attributes.

The salary range for this position is $127,500–$142,500, depending on experience. There are also bonus opportunities.

Interested candidates should email a resume, law school transcript, and writing sample to the Stoll Berne Hiring and Retention Committee at careers@stollberne.com.
