Chehalem Physical Therapy, et al vs. Coventry Health Care, Inc.

In a national class action against Coventry Health Care, Steve Larson and Josh Ross, along with counsel from Oregon and Louisiana, represented health care providers (such as doctors and physical therapists) who provide medical services in the workers’ compensation system. The lawsuit alleged that Coventry improperly calculated the amount of reimbursements paid to plaintiffs for medical services. A federal judge certified an injunctive class aimed at stopping the alleged practice and named Larson as lead class counsel and Ross as liaison counsel for the class. The case ultimately settled, with a settlement value in excess of $5 million. In his opinion approving the settlement, the District Court remarked that “Class counsel are highly experienced in representing clients in class action lawsuits, and the result achieved for the plaintiffs in this case is excellent.”
