Class Action Seeks Relief for North Tonawanda Residents Impacted by Crypto Mining Operations

Residents of North Tonawanda, New York, are seeking legal action against DigiPowerX over ongoing concerns tied to the company’s cryptocurrency mining facility. A class action lawsuit filed by Weitz & Luxenberg alleges that nearby homeowners have endured years of excessive noise pollution generated by the plant’s operations. According to the complaint, industrial cooling fans used to support cryptocurrency mining run continuously, producing low-frequency sounds and vibrations that residents claim have disrupted their daily lives.

Attorney Emma Dietz of Weitz & Luxenberg described the noise as “incessant and inescapable,” alleging that many residents can no longer enjoy simple activities such as opening their windows or spending time outdoors without disturbance. The lawsuit seeks monetary damages for affected residents, compensation for alleged property value losses, and monitoring for potential chronic health issues that may be linked to prolonged exposure to the facility’s noise.
