Fox News Settles Sexual Harassment and Retaliation Investigation

Fox News settled an investigation regarding alleged sexual harassment and retaliation at the network brought by the New York City Commission on Human Rights. The settlement includes eliminating mandatory arbitration clauses in employment agreements for the next four years when the complaint is related to the city’s human rights laws. 

Sexual harassment prevention and bystander training sessions must be provided to all city-based employees and includes executives. It also includes an additional requirement that the network develop a multi-tiered reporting systems for human rights law claims for at least two years. 

According to the New York City Commission on Human Rights press release, the agreement also comes with a $1 million civil penalty price tag which is the “highest civil penalty ordered in the Commission history.”
