Stoll Berne attorney Nadia Dahab was named to the 2019 class for the Portland Business Journal’s Forty Under 40. The awards ceremony will be held on June 21, 2019 at The Nines Hotel in Downtown Portland.
The award honors these young professionals for their commitments to their career, influence, leadership, and community involvement. The Portland Business Journal describes this year’s breakdown as a representative mix of positions from companies and agencies both large and small, established and up and coming.
Nadia is currently serving as Immediate Past President of the Federal Bar Association’s Oregon Chapter and sits on a variety of committees for the Campaign for Equal Justice, and Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. She has coached for the Classroom Law Project’s “We the People” mock trial competitions since 2012 and is a board member of the Arab American Cultural Center of Oregon.
Most recently, Nadia, as a cooperating attorney to the ACLU of Oregon, represented the Innovation Law Lab in a lawsuit to gain and keep access to counsel for immigrant detainees at the Sheridan, Oregon federal detention center. Nadia’s pro bono work on behalf of Innovation Law Lab has helped to provide counsel for 80 immigrant men for their successful completion of asylum-screening interviews. As part of this work, Nadia spoke at the Families Belong Together rally in June 2018 in Portland.
She received the 2018 Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of Oregon School of Law as well as the American Constitution Society 2019 Oregon Rising Star award. To learn more about Nadia’s work with Sheridan, click here.
